Knitting Vintage Socks.

So, I'm a little obsessed with sock knitting at the moment. [: I'm currently on my third pair ever, and it's wonderful. I bought this book from amazon to give me a bit more inspiration on patterns and things and to my surprise there is a GREAT intro at the beginning talking about how handknit stockings became more popular and how the first evidence of any British sock knitting (really more like leg warmers) was found on a boat in some long-long-time-ago date. If you love knitting and like to imagine victorian (and before!) people sitting around with teeny tiny needles making stockings, then this book is for you! It's of course, got some great patterns, but I haven't even got there yet!
I am so charmed by old patterns and these were adapted from a sweet publication that came out in 'leaflets'. Sounds like a craft zine if you ask me!!! :]

Don't forget to come along to Wednesday Knit2 on wednesday! I'll be there (no doubt) working on my pair of orange and brown socks!
